about

This tune set starts with a couple of slides (tunes with a jig feel but in 12/8 time).
Lisdoonvarna is associated with a number of health spas and also one of Europe's largest match-making festivals so the road is presumably quite a hopeful one!
Bonny Ann probably relates to Anne Bonny (8 March 1702 – 22 April 1782) who was an Irish woman who became a famous female pirate, operating in the Caribbean.
Killiecrankie probably relates to one of the major battles in the first Jacobite uprising in 1689 which took place near the Pass of Killiecrankie. One soldier escaped the battle by making a giant leap across the River Garry at what is now known as Soldier's Leap.
